Baldwin EMC's CEO Bucky Jakins Named to Coastal Recovery Commission of Alabama

September 28, 2010

Baldwin EMC's Chief Executive Officer E. A. "Bucky" Jakins, Jr. was appointed to serve on the newly formed Coastal Recovery Commission of Alabama created by executive order of Alabama Governor Bob Riley. The commission, made up of civic, business and community leaders, will provide expertise, experience and leadership for development of a report detailing the road to resilience for South Alabama. Riley said the commission will examine the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and recommend ways that improve the state's ability to respond to future challenges. "We must do everything we can to restore what's been lost because of this disaster, but we should also use this moment to strengthen the resilience of our state and coastal communities," said Riley. The Coastal Recovery Commission will present a final report to the Governor and Governor-elect by December 15.
